Title: The Scaled Agile Framework
Abstract: The Agile Manifesto was penned over twelve years ago and Agile methods for product development have been adopted by most small to medium sized software companies. Even in larger companies Agile incarnations like Scrum are popular and practiced in pockets of engineering departments. However, at the program and portfolio levels, larger companies continue to use a phase-gate or waterfall approach which suffers from cost and schedule over runs as well as siloed organizations. What has been missing until lately is a cohesive and field tested framework which addresses the concerns and realities of large scale product development.
In this presentation, you will learn the issues and concerns of large enterprises regarding the adoption of Agile processes. You will also learn how the Scaled Agile Framework™ (SAFe) addresses these concerns as well as the benefits, difficulties and challenges of implementing this framework across the enterprise.
Bio: Armond Mehrabian (SPC, CSP, PMP) is an Enterprise Agile consultant and coach with a deep passion for helping software intensive product organizations achieve their highest potential through relentless continuous improvement and mastery of their craft. For the last three years, Armond has been focused on scaling the success of software agility from the team to the enterprise level using the Scaled Agile Framework™ (SAFe). Armond is currently, helping large multi-disciplined organizations implement the Scaled Agile Framework™ across their organizations.
Prior to consulting, Armond held positions as software developer, project manager and engineering manager where he led and implemented Lean-Agile practices.
